Are you dreaming big?

A life in B2B tech marketing

After 30 years in B2B tech marketing, I’ve decided it’s time to share my experiences and insights. This blog is here to help the next generation of tech marketers find their way, avoid common pitfalls and circumvent the challenges of working with founder and sales leader personalities.

  • Tech founders often repeat the same mistakes, which is why so few startups survive beyond five years. This blog shares insights from my career, focused on small and early-stage tech businesses across the industry.

Nothing is more important than marketing or harder than sales

For any B2B tech startup just to survive after launch, it must first establish a sales and marketing engine that will create awareness, generate leads and win new customers. Every other concern is secondary.

Time to get real

I don’t believe any tech firm has earned the right to waste precious resources on branded clothing until they have successfully scaled their business. Many B2B tech startups don’t even know where their next sales deal is coming from.

If you want to join me on my journey it’s time to get real, and tech founders are in for a bumpy ride because it’s their behaviours, missteps and knee jerk, emotional reactions that put startups at risk of failure every day.
